Equinom, an Israeli food tech company specializing in plant-based ingredients, has raised USD 35 million in a Series D funding round led by Synthesis Capital with additional investments coming in from Praesidium, Bunge Ventures, CPT Capital, Fortissimo, and Phoenix. The company has now raised a total of USD 71 million to date.
The funding will allow the company to expedite the commercialization of its plant-based protein ingredients in the B2B market, along with providing investments for seed development and grain production as well as R&D and key personnel hires for ongoing breeding programs for protein source crops.
Founded in 2012, Equinom combines its agricultural, culinary, and deep-tech expertise to develop non-GMO plant-based ingredients. The company focuses on using peas and soy (optimized for food production using the company’s proprietary Manna platform) as its main ingredient source, allowing for minimally processed plant proteins.
