Volvo Autonomous Solutions (VAS) partnered with Uber Freight to deploy Volvo trucks on the Uber Freight network, starting with select routes in Texas.
This partnership reportedly represents Uber Freight’s first autonomous fleet commercial collaboration and VAS’s first customer to pilot hub-to-hub autonomous offerings.
The companies plan to create a hybrid future where autonomous trucks mainly cater to long-haul portions of transport missions, and manually driven trucks continue to serve the local operations.
