Synhelion, a Swiss solar to fuels startup raised CHF 22 million (USD 23.7 million) in a Series C funding round led by existing and new investors including Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS). This brings the company’s total funding to USD 45.8 million.
The company intends to use the proceeds to scale up the commercialization of its proprietary sun-to-liquid technology to produce solar fuel. Part of the funds will also be used for the deployment of its DAWN facility, the world’s first industrial plant to produce sustainable fuels using solar heat. Furthermore, the funds will also be used to undertake the technical design and construction planning of its first commercial plant in Spain.
