EVgo partners with Amazon to provide Alexa-enabled EV charging

Partnerships

  • EVgo, a Nasdaq-listed company operating the largest DC fast-charging station network in the US, partnered with Amazon to provide an Alexa-enabled EV charging experience.

  • Under this partnership, EVgo’s PlugShare app, which supports drivers to find charging stations, will be integrated with the Alexa app. As such, drivers using EVgo charging stations will be able to ask Alexa to locate nearby stations, navigate to these and initiate and pay for charging sessions.

  • The two companies will provide the in-vehicle functionality to Alexa-enabled EVs and automotive accessories such as Echo Auto later in 2023.

  • Analyst QuickTake: This partnership follows EVgo’s collaboration with Lyft , a company that operates a web-based and mobile platform connecting riders and drivers, in December 2022. Under this partnership, rideshare drivers on the Lyft platform were provided an EV charging discount program where up to 45% of session costs could be saved.
