Wejo, a mobility data provider, announced an expanded partnership with Microsoft, adopting the Microsoft Connected Fleets reference architecture to improve its fleet management capabilities.
The partnership enables Wejo to be part of an ecosystem of Microsoft partners and solution providers with the integration of fleet data into key business processes to provide actionable insights. This includes: 1) accessing Wejo’s connected vehicle data in real-time directly from its OEM partners, 2) facilitating faster integrations with client-specific needs, 3) facilitating the integration of field-service business applications and fleet management functions, 4) simplified delivery of advanced analytics, and 5) providing fleet management features without the need to upgrade hardware.
Analyst QuickTake: The partnership between Wejo and Microsoft, which began in 2021, was expanded and extended in June 2022 to enhance the capabilities of Microsoft's mapping products (such as Bing Maps). This latest collaboration is expected to boost productivity, cut costs associated with data collection, and provide Wejo an edge over its peers by removing the need to install new equipment in vehicles for fleet management.
