Factorial Energy unveils new 100 Ah battery cell

Product updates

  • Factorial Energy, a solid-state battery developer, unveiled its first 100 Amp-Hour (Ah) battery cell at CES 2023. This product was developed as part of the joint development agreement formed between Factorial and Stellantis in November 2021.

  • According to Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares, this solid-state battery is expected to deliver up to 30% higher energy density compared to conventional lithium-ion, thus enabling the possibility for a longer driving range or less weight.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The companies’ collaboration in November 2021 involved an agreement to advance Factorial’s high-voltage traction solid-state battery technology with a target to commercialize by 2026. This also included a strategic investment from Stellantis during Factorial’s Series D funding round in January 2022 , where the latter raised a total of USD 200 million.
