Plantd, a Durham-based company that converts atmospheric CO2 into building materials for residential homes, raised nearly USD 13.6 million in a combination of both equity and debt financing, including shares of Series A convertible preferred stock with the participation of 31 investors.
Founded in 2021, Plantd produces structural building panels for wall sheathing, roof decking, and subflooring. The company develops carbon-negative materials for construction and intends to transform renewable grass into long-lasting building materials. The company claims that its proprietary technology can improve building material quality by nine times.
