Adapt Biogas achieves gas to grid at its Evercreech Renewable Energy plant

Product updates

  • Adapt Biogas, a biogas producer using its anaerobic digestion technology, added a gas-to-grid anaerobic digestion site to its Evercreech Renewable Energy plant in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. The Evercreech Renewable Energy plant was funded by parent company Macquarie Capital, allowing Adapt Biogas to inject gas into the Wales and West Utilities gas network.

  • In December 2022, the plant completed its first injection of biomethane into the gas network, and it will be able to process 95,000 tonnes of food and organic waste from commercial and industrial sources, as well as domestic food waste collected by local authorities. The locally produced green energy will benefit up to 8,000 homes.

  • Founded in 2012, Adapt Biogas is a UK-based company that uses anaerobic digestion (AD) to convert agricultural waste into green energy. The company operates two AD plants at Murrow, Cambridgeshire, and Shepton Mallet, Somerset. The operational process includes locating feedstock and supplying green energy to the grid.
