HAAS Alert and Tome Software partner to launch Safety Cloud for Android Automotive

Product updates
Partnerships

  • HAAS Alert, which specializes in providing road and work zone safety alert systems, announced that it has partnered with Tome Software, a developer of mobility IoT software solutions and a subsidiary of Valtech, to introduce its end-to-end digital alerting solution Safety Cloud for vehicles using the Android Automotive operating system (AAOS).

  • The new solution provides a customizable AAOS application to receive Safety Cloud messages and display digital alerts to drivers in vehicles using any AAOS-based infotainment system. The integration is expected to streamline the process for OEMs to deploy digital alerts on the scale, give access to vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications in every cellular-connected vehicle nationwide, improve driver awareness, vehicle safety, and reduce distracted driving.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The partnership complements HAAS Alert’s efforts to expand its road safety alert systems into the consumer market where it had previously integrated its Safety Cloud platform into Apple Maps . In April 2021, Stellantis became the first corporate automaker to roll out Safety Cloud notifications to all of its brands including Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, and Alfa Romeo. Since then, HAAS Alert claimed that at least eight vehicle manufacturers already have the platform preinstalled on their fleet vehicles.
