Midnight Gaming to acquire esports infrastructure firm TGS Esports

M&A

  • Midnight Gaming, a gaming and entertainment firm, has reached a deal to buy Canadian esports infrastructure company TGS Esports (TGS). The agreement involves Midnight buying all of TGS's outstanding shares and the estimated value of TGS's total assets is around USD 13.9 million. Following the purchase, Midnight Gaming intends to list on the Nasdaq to attract more investment. TGS CEO, Spiro Khouri, will become the CEO of Midnight Gaming, while the current Midnight CEO will act as the Executive Chairman.

  • TGS, founded in 2018, owns Canada’s first esports arena, The Gaming Stadium (opened in 2019), where it hosts esports leagues, tournaments, and events. It announced the launch of TGS Mexico in February 2021 to cater to its growing customer base in Central America by setting up esports tournaments and events in the country.

  • Midnight Gaming intends to diversify its revenue streams and reach a wider gaming audience through the acquisition.
