ESE Entertainment to acquire K1CK Esports Club

M&A

  • ESE Entertainment (ESE), an esports infrastructure company, announced that it has agreed to acquire the intellectual property of K1CK Esports Club.

  • Founded in 1998, K1CK is a European esports brand considered to be an industry pioneer. The company manages esports teams that compete across esports such as League of Legends, Counter-Strike, and Apex Legends. At the time of the announcement, K1CK is licensed to manage ESE’s esports teams. Pedro Fernandes, owner of K1CK Esports, will work with ESE to operate the brand after the transaction is complete.

  • ESE will pay CAD 207,500 (approximately USD 160,000) using a combination of cash and its stock at a price of CAD 0.25. The acquisition will give ESE another monetizable asset that it can grow globally.

  • Founded in 2019, ESE Entertainment has a presence in Europe, Asia, and North America. In addition to its esports teams, the company provides the physical and digital infrastructure for esports leagues and events. It owns and operates Rocketmania, one of the largest Rocket League competitions in Europe. In November 2020, the company signed a global distribution deal with linear esports tv channel, Esports TV (ESTV). The aim is to increase ESE’s esports audience reach, especially in the US market.
