UK-based quantum hardware startup, SeeQC, has partnered with multinational chemical company BASF to explore quantum computing in simulating chemical reactions. The terms and financial details of the partnership have not been disclosed.
The partnership will leverage SeeQC’s proprietary digital “system-on-a-chip” technology and BASF’s industry capabilities to apply quantum computing in dissolved catalysts or homogeneous catalysis.
As part of the partnership, BASF will join SeeQC’s QuPharma project—an initiative launched in November 2021 that focuses on accelerating drug development processes. BASF’s involvement will enable the project to focus on simulations that are pivotal for the chemical industry.
