Platform Science enters a strategic partnership with Kenworth

Partnerships

  • Platform Science, a provider of IoT-based fleet management solutions, entered a strategic partnership with the truck manufacturer Kenworth. The two companies plan to integrate Platform Science’s Virtual Vehicle platform into Kenworth trucks using factory-installed telematics hardware.

  • The partnership aims to combine Kenworth’s expertise in manufacturing trucks with Platform Science’s telematics technology, to provide customers with an integrated solution that helps optimize their fleet operations. The solution is expected to enhance 1) productivity: maximized uptime as a result of factory-installed telematics hardware; 2) flexibility: access to a growing pipeline of developer-created innovations and software experiences catered to individual business needs; 3) accessibility: use of edge, cloud and in-dash data enabling 24/7/365 availability of data even when fleets are offline; and 4) cost-effectiveness: as a result of usage-based billing.

  • The services are expected to launch for Kenworth’s Class 8 T680, T880, and W990 models and medium-duty T180, T280, T380, and T480 models in 2024.
