Via raises USD 110 million to broaden Transit Tech portfolio; valuing the firm at USD 3.5 billion

Funding

  • Via, the developer of mobility platform TransitTech, raised USD 110 million in funding led by 83North, with participation from Exor N.V., Pitango, Janus Henderson, and CF Private Equity. This latest investment, at the same price per share as Via's previous funding round in November 2021, has taken the total funding raised by the company to over USD 887 million resulting in a company valuation of USD 3.5 billion.

  • The company plans to use the funds to broaden its product offering and advance its goal of providing a comprehensive digital infrastructure for public transportation.

  • The company also reported that it had more than doubled its annualized revenue run rate since its fundraiser in November 2021 to above USD 200 million in 2022.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Via's recent funding is a significant milestone for the company, allowing it to accelerate expansion into new markets and verticals, as well as invest in product innovation. This will enable Via to continue making significant contributions to the TransitTech market and expanding the category.
