Product updates

  • Tofurky, the plant-based food brand of Turtle Island Foods, along with its sister brand Moocho which produces dairy-free cheese, was acquired by Morinaga Nutritional Foods, a subsidiary of Japanese dairy company Morinaga Milk Industry, Co. The terms and financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

  • Morinaga and Tofurky have had a long-standing business relationship, with Morinaga supplying Tofurky with tofu for 17 years. The consolidation of the companies will further integrate their supply chain and drive growth for both brands.

  • Tofurky will continue operating at its eco-friendly facility in Hood River, Oregon, while Morinaga plans to enhance its capacity there with technical staff. According to the company, Morinaga will provide the platform needed to help Tofurky’s expansion plans in the US and beyond.
