Natural Fiber Welding partners with Lenzing

Partnerships

  • Natural Fiber Welding (NFW), a technology company creating textiles from recycled plants and natural fibers, partnered with The Lenzing Group, an Austria-based supplier of specialty fibers, to offer TENCEL branded fibers as an alternative for NFW's patented plant-based technology, MIRUM.

  • TENCEL Lyocell and Modal fibers are derived from sustainable wood sources and produced in environmentally friendly ways. Lenzing's Fiber Identification technology would allow full traceability of fiber materials used in manufacturing. The MIRUM X TENCEL collaboration would produce a sustainable leather alternative that is free of plastic and uses natural rubber and plant oils instead of polyurethane binders.

  • The company would unveil the MIRUM x TENCEL collaboration at the LINEAPELLE international leather fair in Milan, Italy, from 21–23 February 2023. The product is available worldwide, and this year, the "MIRUM x TENCEL" leather alternative product will be added to Lenzing's E-Branding Service.
