Video conferencing platform Scoot raises USD 12 million in series A funding

Funding

  • Scoot, a startup that aims to enhance video meetings, has raised USD 12 million in a Series A funding round led by Woodland Capital.

  • The funding will be used to improve the company’s video meeting platform and plans to expand its workforce to 30 members (from 14) by the end of 2023.

  • Scoot aims to redefine virtual meetings by replicating the experience of in-person gatherings. It allows users to add custom background themes and music and offers analytics for admins to measure participant activity. Scoot has a special feature called "crowd noise technology," which allows presenters to hear real-time reactions (e.g. applause, cheers, laughter) from the audience. Scoot counts several Fortune 50 businesses among its customers.
