Scoot, a startup that aims to enhance video meetings, has raised USD 12 million in a Series A funding round led by Woodland Capital.
The funding will be used to improve the company’s video meeting platform and plans to expand its workforce to 30 members (from 14) by the end of 2023.
Scoot aims to redefine virtual meetings by replicating the experience of in-person gatherings. It allows users to add custom background themes and music and offers analytics for admins to measure participant activity. Scoot has a special feature called "crowd noise technology," which allows presenters to hear real-time reactions (e.g. applause, cheers, laughter) from the audience. Scoot counts several Fortune 50 businesses among its customers.
