Leaf Logistics, an online freight platform, has announced the launch of Flex Fleets, a multi-shipper dedicated trucking fleet, operating across several regions across the US.
Flex Fleets allows shippers and carriers to enter secure, longer-term contracts thereby helping carriers and brokers access long-term schedules and budget certainty. The service is an extension of Leaf’s freight-matching platform and leverages the company’s Leaf Adapt technology to analyze, track, and coordinate shipper data.
Flex Fleets claims it can reduce shipping costs by eliminating 76% of empty miles associated with unloaded trucks driving on the road.
Flex Fleets was piloted throughout 2022 and has expanded in markets across the US over the past six months. The current customers of the service include shippers such as Johnson & Johnson, BASF, and Party City. Leaf plans to scale Flex Fleets to serve all major US markets by the end of the year.
