Wejo, a mobility data provider, announced an expanded collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Connectivity Services GmbH, to expand its fleet coverage in the European Union.
The integration enables Wejo to receive data from participating Mercedes-Benz fleet vehicles, which will be processed through Wejo's ADEPT platform. The data collected provides useful insights such as geographic locations, fuel consumption, odometer and speed readings, and tire pressure, which can be used by fleet management service (FMS) providers, telematics service providers (TSPs), and fleet owners. Wejo can also access driver behavior information to promote safer driving practices. In addition, Wejo ADEPT reportedly prioritizes the highest standards of data privacy and security for customers.
Analyst QuickTake: This partnership builds on Wejo and Mercedes's previous collaboration in December 2021, to introduce an innovative solution that provides live stream access to parking event data, which enables smart city mobility services providers or infrastructure operators to identify parking opportunities in urban areas. Wejo has also been expanding its presence in Europe through partnerships with other autonomous vehicle manufacturers such as Renault Group and Ford, aiming to increase fleet coverage and improve the use of connected vehicle data in the development of mobility solutions.
