Von Holzhausen, a producer of handbags using alternative leather materials, launched Liquidplant, a 100% plant-based and plastic-free topcoat to replace petroleum-based polyurethane.
The company has been developing Liquidplant for 2.5 years and believes it is an unprecedented innovation that can replace plastic topcoats in diverse materials, including synthetic and traditional leather, fabric, wood, and paper.
Liquidplant is a new plant-based topcoat technology from agricultural waste such as corn sugar, castor oil, and flaxseed oil. It consists of a high-quality topcoat and a base layer and can be used alone or in combination with the company’s upcoming Terra Backing material.
