Samsung partners with Refract Technologies to create new XR experiences

Partnerships

  • Samsung announced its partnership with XR game developer Refract Technologies to develop XR experiences in gaming, virtual sports, and other activities.

  • The partnership will focus on expanding the use cases of XR with Refract's AXIS, a full body-tracking system designed for gamers, using Samsung's Galaxy smartphones as the official main hub for AXIS. The companies also plan to collaborate on joint projects and establish efforts to promote the adoption of experiences powered by XR, AI, and Samsung's hardware solutions.

  • Analyst QuickTake: In February 2023 , Samsung announced a partnership with Google and Qualcomm to develop XR experiences. Previous partnerships in the XR space, include that with Microsoft to support the Samsung HMD Odyssey on the Windows Mixed Reality Platform and Oculus for the creation of the Samsung Gear VR headset .
