The Believer Company (Believer), a startup studio founded by ex-Riot Games executives, has raised USD 55 million in funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Bitkraft Ventures, and Riot Games, among others.
The fresh funds will be used to increase headcount and develop original IP and content.
Believer, founded by former Riot Games executives Michael Chow and Steven Snow, aims to create large multiplayer "open world" games that focus on player choices. The company is currently in stealth mode and does not have any launch plans for the next 3–5 years.
