Svante, a Canadian carbon capture startup, has received an investment of USD 5 million from United Airlines as part of the company’s Series E funding round. This brings the company’s total funding to USD 479 million.
The proceeds raised will be used to support Svante's commercial-scale filter manufacturing facility deployment in British Columbia, Canada. The facility is expected to capture millions of tons of CO2 per year.
Analyst QuickTake: United Airlines has invested in over three billion gallons of SAF for future air travel, and earmarks to be the highest-ranked airline for future SAF purchases globally. Svante also works with Dimensional Energy, a solar-to-fuel startup backed by United Airlines Ventures to produce SAF. The two companies collaborated in June 2022 .
