Moolec Science acquires ValoraSoy to accelerate growth

M&A

  • UK-based molecular farming company producing plant-based proteins Moolec Science has acquired ValoraSoy, a company focused on producing and commercializing functional soy proteins for USD 6 million. The company has paid  ~USD 2.5 million in cash, and the rest with its shares in three years based on vesting and business metrics.

  • ValoraSoy has state-of-the-art industrial facilities located in Argentina with a processing capacity of 10,000 tons. It has a team of professionals and commercial channels in over 14 countries on three continents. Its soy-based protein ingredients are utilized in several end products such as hamburgers, sausages, and other plant-based products in the traditional and alternative food industries

  • The acquisition is expected to help Moolec accelerate its growth in the food ingredients industry by expanding its commercial network and complementing its Molecular Farming Platform. It will further allow Moolec to consolidate its Molecular Farming platform and lower the cost of protein-rich foods while also enabling Moolec to incorporate real-time feedback from existing customers globally and accelerate its technology rollout.
