ChargeLab, a Canadian company developing software solutions for EV charging, has raised an additional USD 15 million for its Series A funding round, bringing the round’s total financing to USD 30 million.
The new funds include USD 10 million in equity financing from Silver Comet, an EV charging network operator, and Eaton, an intelligent power management company. Silver Comet plans to build a network of DC fast charging stations using ChargeLab’s technology, while Eaton has coupled ChargeLab’s platform with its EV chargers in North America. The funding round also included USD 5 million in venture debt.
Founded in 2015, ChargeLab has developed software to operate and optimize EV charging equipment. The software runs at the edge and in the cloud and enables fleets, building operators, and utilities to manage large numbers of EV chargers as an intelligent network. ChargeLab’s core product is a cloud-based charging station management system (CSMS). The company’s platform is able to carry out automated EV charger monitoring, management of pricing and access rules, payment processing, and electrical load balancing.
