Sweden-based plant-based seafood startup Hooked Foods has raised SEK 10 million (~USD 967,000) in a funding round from investors Brightly Ventures, Oyster Bay VC, Veg Capital, and others. The company has also announced its first limited crowdfunding round on Crowdcube.
Hooked Foods plans to use the funds to expand its product range and accelerate production to become a leader in the plant-based seafood market.
Founded in 2019, the company aims to develop sustainable plant-based substitutes for seafood. The company has introduced a variety of plant-based seafood alternatives, such as salmon, tuna, and fish sticks, which are now available in restaurants and supermarkets throughout Europe.
