VFC Foods secures GBP 6 million in funding

Funding

  • UK-based plant-based meat startup VFC Foods has secured GBP 6 million (~USD 7.4 million) in a funding round led by Veg Capital.

  • The funding will enable VFC to expand its reach across various channels and introduce innovative products in related categories such as chilled products later this year. VFC Foods also plans to expand its presence across the Nordic countries, Belgium, and Spain while increasing its reach in France, Germany, and Australia.

  • The brand reports that it is focusing on developing new products for different eating occasions and formats with an "ambitious" pipeline of innovations.

  • As of date, VFC Foods has expanded its distribution at Sainsbury's and also launched at Asda, Morrisons, Ocado, and Waitrose in the UK. The company attributes its expansion to its latest product innovations, including a new recipe that resembles meat more closely, a Spicy variety, and the introduction of its first kids' product, Stompers.
