Microsoft is collaborating with AMD to help the latter expand into the AI processor market by providing engineering resources, which is dominated by NVIDIA .
In turn, AMD is reportedly aiding Microsoft to build its own AI processor named “ Athena ” to train large language models. The company has reportedly been working on the development of Athena since 2019.
