Immuta, a startup developing automated data governance solutions, announced a strategic investment from Databricks Ventures (the investment arm of data infrastructure firm, Databricks). The value of the investment was not disclosed.
The company is an established partner of Databricks, providing data security and access solutions to the firm’s customers. Immuta expects to use the funds to strengthen integration between Databricks’ platform and its own to drive product innovation, enterprise adoption, and its go-to-market strategies.
Analyst QuickTake: This is Databricks ’ second major investment in data governance lately; earlier this week, the firm acquired Okera , an AI-driven data governance platform and a direct competitor to Immuta, as it continues to enhance the data security and governance capabilities of its data lakehouse platform.
