California-based plant-based meat developer Beyond Meat has launched the Beyond Smashable Burger Patty into US foodservice. The 2.5 oz patty was developed in collaboration with foodservice operators and has been designed specifically to meet the requirements of restaurants.
The burger patty can be smashed into any size and cooked in three minutes. Further, it claims to offer 13 g of plant-based protein per patty, contains 35% less saturated (compared to conventional 80/20 ground beef), and is free of cholesterol, GMOs, soy ingredients, hormones, and/or antibiotics.
Beyond Smashable Burger Patty joins the company’s existing range of plant-based burger products and is available nationwide through DOT Foods, America’s largest redistribution company.
