Vision Labs partners with Thawani Technologies to bring facial payments to Oman

Partnerships

  • Vision Labs, a Netherlands-based company developing products and solutions in face recognition, object recognition, VR, and AR, has partnered with Thawani Technologies, an Omani company that offers smart payment solutions, to bring FacePay to Oman.

  • The technology will be showcased at a conceptual coffee shop and a gift shop at the Seamless Middle East 2023 exhibition, which will allow users to pay for coffee and presents with Thawani Wallet by using facial recognition instead of paying by credit card.

  • Initial FacePay terminals will be established at the Sultanate of Oman, providing the option to finalize a transaction using either facial recognition or a credit card.

  • Within the next year, the Sultanate is planning to explore opportunities to integrate advanced payment methods that leverage facial recognition technology.
