Infinium, a developer of low-carbon electrofuels, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Navigator CO2, a carbon management company. Under this partnership, Navigator will deliver 600,000 tons per annum of biogenic CO2 from its Heartland Greenway system to a facility that will be developed by Infinium to produce electrofuels (eFuels).
Navigator’s Heartland Greenway Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) project is one of the largest aggregations systems for biogenic CO2, globally. Partnerships with such CO2 providers will enable Infinium to expand its eFuel capacity. Infinium has over twelve projects in different stages of development across the US, Europe, Japan, and Australia.
Infinium’s eFuels are created using CO2 and renewable power-derived green hydrogen. These eFuels do not contain any sulfur and are cleaner-burning than petroleum-based fuels. Furthermore, Infinium eSAF and Infinium eDiesel can be used in planes, ships, and trucks instead of petroleum jets and diesel fuels without modifications to engines or distribution infrastructure. Additionally, Infinium eNaphtha can be used to produce gasoline fuel alternatives and replace petroleum-derived naphtha in chemical and industrial processes to create plastics and solvents.
