Dimensional Energy, a solar-to-fuel startup, has signed a SAF offtake agreement with Boom Supersonic, a commercial airplane manufacturer.

Under this strategic agreement, Boom Supersonic will purchase up to five million gallons of SAF per annum from Dimensional Energy for Boom’s Overture flight test program. Overture is Boom’s proposed supersonic airliner that will fly at twice the speed of today’s airliners on 100% SAF, over a range of 4,000 nautical miles with its first flight planned for 2026.

Analyst QuickTake: This partnership follows Dimensional Energy’s agreement with United Airlines in June 2022 to supply at least 300 million gallons of SAF. Furthermore, United Airlines Ventures also invested in Dimensional Energy’s R&D activities to support United Airlines achieve its own net-zero commitment by 2050.
