BiomeSense raises USD 3 million in oversubscribed funding round

Funding

  • BiomeSense, a bioinformatics company focusing on the microbiome, has raised USD 3 million in an oversubscribed funding round led by Bluestein Ventures, with participation from Harvest Ridge Capital, SOSV, and Seerave Foundation.

  • The funds will be used for the development of BiomeSense's "smart bathroom" technology, Gut Lab, and the expansion of its bioinformatics platform, Metabiome, with a commercial launch expected within the year.

  • BiomeSense is developing tools to unlock the potential of the microbiome in precision medicine. Its "smart bathroom" technology and bioinformatics platform enable the generation and analysis of large-scale microbiome datasets. The company claims that its GutLab automated laboratory system and MetaBiome bioinformatics platform are the first-ever solutions to provide continuous, at-home tracking and analysis of the microbiome. BiomeSense aims to partner with biopharma companies, probiotic companies, contract research organizations, and microbiome researchers.
