Quantron expands global presence with launch of Quantron Italy

Geographic expansion

  • Quantron, a German developer of electric and hydrogen commercial vehicles, has announced the acquisition of the subsidiary EYES Group from FRIEM, an Italian electronic manufacturer that produces green hydrogen.

  • Under the terms of the acquisition, FRIEM will transfer 100% of its subsidiary EYES Group to Quantron in order to establish Quantron Italy and expand its geographical footprint in southern Europe.

  • Quantron Italy plans to deploy a facility in Milan, to initially assemble emission-free last-mile vehicles. The company’s new facility in Italy will allow Quantron to further establish its presence across the European market. Fabrizio Simoni will be appointed as managing director of Quantron Italy, having served as the former CEO of EYES Group.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Quantron had previously scaled up its global presence by establishing its American subsidiary, Quantron US , in October 2022 to expand its geographical footprint across the US market. Quantron US had deployed its business model in the US with plans to develop new vehicle designs for fuel-cell electric vehicles (FCEV) and battery-electric vehicles (BEV).
