Aviant, a Norwegian drone-based delivery services provider, raised EUR 1 million (~USD 1.1 million) in public funding from Innovation Norway.
The funds will be used to support the autonomous transportation of essential prescription medicines from pharmacies to individuals residing in remote and suburban regions. This addresses the challenges posed by long distances, poor road conditions, and harsh weather conditions that can hinder mobility in those areas.
Aviant also announced the launch of the home delivery service, “Kyte.” Customers can use the Kyte app to order groceries, readymade meals, and light medicines. Drones will then autonomously transport the package to the customer's location and return to the base.
Kyte has successfully completed deliveries spanning over 4,000 km, achieving an average delivery time of 24 minutes.
