Argus Labs, a Web3 gaming studio, raised USD 10 million in seed funding led by Haun Ventures, with participation from Robot Ventures, Anagram, Alchemy , and individual investors.
It plans to channel the fresh funds to expand its workforce and build its studio and tooling infrastructure.
Along with the raise, Argus also launched its blockchain-based gaming SDK called “World Engine,” which enables game developers to create their own Web3 games and ecosystems.
The SDK also allows developers to create dedicated Ethereum-compatible layer-2 blockchain networks for their games, utilizing zero-knowledge (zk) proofs to enhance scalability, support user-generated content, and support complex games such as massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) to exist fully on chain.
Headquartered in California with a globally distributed team, Argus Labs' World Engine supports all tools and wallets compatible with Ethereum. Currently, it is in a private beta phase, and upon its official launch, the company plans to make it open-source.
