On.Energy, a developer of fully integrated commercial and industrial battery energy storage systems (ESS), has raised USD 20 million in equity financing in a Series B funding round led by Ultra Capital. This brings the company's total equity raised to USD 30 million and total funds raised to USD 120 million.
The company intends to utilize a portion of the funds to accelerate the development, construction, and operation of its ESS in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) market. The company currently has plans to construct 300 MWh of ESS in the ERCOT region.
Analyst QuickTake: Prior to this in August 2022 , On.Energy received USD 100 million in project financing from SDCL Energy Efficiency Income Trust (SEEIT), its first major institutional investor. The company intended to use the funds to deploy its US and Canada energy storage projects.
