TROES, a Canadian company developing commercial and industrial battery energy storage systems (BESS), has raised USD 1.5 million in funding for a project in partnership with Day and Night Solar, a US-based solar developer. The Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI) also contributed funds for the project. Following the raise, the company's total funding stands at USD 1.8 million.
The two companies intend to combine portable EV chargers, foldable solar panels, smart energy storage, and microgrid control to deploy EV charging solutions. As such, the solution will incorporate a 533 kWh TROES BESS, a 50 KW solar array, two Level 2 EV chargers, and a fast DC 100 kW charger—all of which will be mounted on a 53 ft flatbed truck in order to be mobile.
Founded in 2018, TROES develops IoT-based and AI-powered battery energy storage systems in 100 kWh to 10 MWh+ dimensions for commercial, industrial, and institutional customers. The company uses lithium iron phosphate technology (LiFePO4) in its batteries, along with a battery management system (BMS) and remote monitoring system.
