Guardian Agriculture, a Massachusetts-based company that uses drones for crop protection, has raised USD 20 million in a Series A funding round led by Fall Line Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its commercial operations nationwide and accelerate the ramp-up of large-scale manufacturing of its SC1 aircraft. Guardian Agriculture hopes to begin commercial operations in support of its Wilbur-Ellis customer in California this summer.
Analyst QuickTake: The funding announcement follows Guardian Agriculture's approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the nationwide operation of eVTOL systems, making it the first authorized eVTOL for commercial operation. The company also noted that it has already secured more than USD 100 million in customer orders, ahead of its competitors.
