Terracycle, a consumer products recycling company, has acquired Complete Recycling Solutions, a Massachusetts-based material recycler, for an undisclosed amount.

This acquisition strengthens TerraCycle's lighting and electronics recycling efforts, as CRS specializes in using lamp recycling and mercury distillation equipment to disassemble different types of lamps into their basic components automatically. Terracycle will also be able to broaden its customer base and provide a wider range of services to businesses.

Analyst QuickTake: Terracycle entered the US recycling business with the acquisition of Air Cycle in 2018, which operates as TerraCycle Regulated Waste, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TerraCycle US. Since then, the company has expanded its operations by offering recycling services to companies such as TASSIMO , Stanley Black & Decker , and Casella Waste Systems.
