Enapter, an Italian anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolyzer producer, has received an order for its AEM Multicore electrolyzer with a capacity of one megawatt from Intelligent Energy Limited (IEL), a UK-based fuel cell producer.
IEL plans to utilize the electrolyzer to test a range of its fuel-cell products’ usage across a range of sectors. This involves the development of IEL’s IE-DRIVE and IE-FLIGHT programs for transport, stationary power, and aviation industries, alongside the Final Acceptance Testing of its fuel cells.
Analyst QuickTake: This order was received on the heels of the company’s launch of AEM Multicore, the world's first megawatt-scale AEM electrolyzer in Germany, most recently in May 2023 . The company plans to produce its first AEM Multicore systems in 2023, with pre-series maturity expected for 2024. The company’s AEM Multicore features 420 AEM stacks, producing nearly 450 kg of green hydrogen per day. Enapter has already received orders for its AEM Multicore from Europe, Asia, and North America.
