Cinis Fertilizer, a Swedish company that converts industrial waste into sulfate of potash (SOP) fertilizer, has signed a long-term agreement with chemical and material science company BASF for deliveries of sodium sulfate.
Through this partnership, Cinis Fertilizer hopes to ensure a sufficient supply of sodium sulfate for its four plants, which are expected to be operational by 2028.
Analyst QuickTake: Though Cinis Fertilizer is yet to commercialize its products, it obtained the environmental permit for its first commercial plant last month. The company has completed the groundwork for this plant in Q1 2023; deliveries of process equipment are expected to commence in the summer. Cinis Fertilizer has also announced plans to commence production of fossil-free fertilizer next year.
