Pulpex, a producer of recyclable paper-based bottles for liquid packaging, has secured between GBP 20 million–GBP 25 million (~USD 25 million-USD 32 million) in Series C funding from investors including CMPC, Diageo, and Pilot Lite. Lazard, an investment bank, advised Pulpex on the funding round.
The company will use the funds to facilitate a commercial-scale production line capable of producing up to 12.5 million paper bottles annually at a facility in Cambridgeshire. The company also has plans to establish additional capacity in unspecified locations globally through deals with licensed manufacturing partners from mid-next year.
The company notes that it aims to produce two billion bottles annually for prominent consumer goods manufacturers by 2028.
