Valkyrie Industries, a tech startup specializing in VR fitness experiences through its patented Haptics EMS technology, has secured an undisclosed investment from ASICS Ventures Corporation.
The funding will be used to accelerate the growth of Valkyrie Industries and bring its product, "EIR Armbands," to market. The EIR Armbands are wearable muscle-based haptics that combines VR and electrical muscle stimulation. The company also plans to collaborate with ASICS Corporation on EIR Training, a virtual fitness training platform.
Valkyrie Industries has developed a hardware and software platform aimed at delivering muscle-based haptics in immersive sports experiences. Its EIR Training program allows users to participate in virtual fitness classes led by coaches in the metaverse, customizing the experience to individual needs.
Analyst QuickTake: Valkyrie differentiates itself from haptics manufacturers through the use of an armband focused exclusively on fitness, as opposed to manufacturing haptic gloves for enterprise use. Additionally, haptic manufacturer SenseGlove raised ~USD 3.6 million in a Series A funding round in April 2023 . Funding was to be utilized for the development of its hand haptics technology to improve user immersion within VR.
