Carbfix, an Icelandic carbon sequestration company, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Fluor, a global engineering and construction company, for carbon capture and storage (CCS) solutions.
Under the MoU, Carbfix will leverage its carbon sequestration technology to convert CO2 into basaltic rock formation for permanent storage underground. Fluor will also provide its proprietary Econamine FG PlusSM carbon capture technology and engineering expertise.
In addition, the collaboration will allow the two companies to pursue CO2 removal projects, such as direct air capture (DAC) and bioenergy CCS solutions.
