Protein Industries Canada (PIC), an industry non-profit, has issued a CAD 10 million (~USD 8 million) call for plant-based food tech projects utilizing AI. The funds will expedite the commercialization of novel plant-based food and ingredients to advance the development of Canada's plant-based space.
This program aims to explore new avenues of utilizing AI to accelerate formulation work and reduce production costs related to food and ingredient development. Further, these projects may include AI-powered process automation for safety and quality control, the development of products to meet certain health criteria, and the reduction of food waste.
