LanzaTech partners with Technip Energies to develop CO2-to-Ethylene technology

Partnerships

  • LanzaTech, a Nasdaq-listed next-generation carbon transformation company, signed a joint agreement with Technip Energies, a French engineering and technology company, to produce ethylene from waste carbon.

  • Under this partnership, LanzaTech and Technip Energies will leverage their proprietary technologies to transform CO2 into Ethylene. This process involves capturing up to 95% of CO2 from the furnaces of an ethylene cracker and mixing it with hydrogen.

  • Thereafter, LanzaTech’s biorecycling technology will be used to transform the captured CO2 into ethanol and will be combined with Technip Energies’ Hummingbird technology to dehydrate the ethanol to ethylene.
