LanzaTech, a Nasdaq-listed next-generation carbon transformation company, signed a joint agreement with Technip Energies, a French engineering and technology company, to produce ethylene from waste carbon.
Under this partnership, LanzaTech and Technip Energies will leverage their proprietary technologies to transform CO2 into Ethylene. This process involves capturing up to 95% of CO2 from the furnaces of an ethylene cracker and mixing it with hydrogen.
Thereafter, LanzaTech’s biorecycling technology will be used to transform the captured CO2 into ethanol and will be combined with Technip Energies’ Hummingbird technology to dehydrate the ethanol to ethylene.
