Meati (formerly Emergy Food), a mycelium-based meat alternative developer, has partnered with Dot Foods, the US' largest food distributor, to increase its retail distribution by tapping into Dot Foods' network of 5,200 distributors.
The partnership will aid Meati in reaching its targeted alternative meat market leadership by 2025. The company currently sells its steak and chicken analogs in limited quantities via direct-to-consumer channels.
Analyst QuickTake: At the beginning of this year, Meati unveiled its 100,000 sq ft “Mega Ranch,” significantly expanding its production capacity. This facility, coupled with this latest distribution partnership, puts the company in a favorable position to achieve its leadership and sales targets by 2025.
