Dronamics becomes world’s first cargo airline to secure IATA and ICAO designator codes

Product updates

  • Dronamics, a UK- and Bulgaria-based middle-mile cargo drone manufacturer, has been assigned International Air Transport Association (IATA) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) designator codes, granting it recognition equivalent to traditional international airlines. This marks the first cargo drone airline in the world to have secured these codes.

  • The IATA code "OY" and accounting prefix "651" allow Dronamics to be officially identified as an airline, enabling interline agreements, connections with freight forwarders, and flight schedule publication through the official airline guide (OAG).

  • The ICAO telephony call sign "Black Swan" and the 3-letter airline designator "DXE" provide Dronamics with crucial identifiers for flight planning, communication with air traffic control, and dissemination of information.
